Baroque Cosmetics Purchase

Another purchase?! Yeah there is probably going to be a no-buy in my future.. But for now, Baroque Cosmetics Viva la Revolutions! TAT was five days processing with shipping at three days going across the country. I had heard about Baroque Cosmetics in another review, and I really wanted to try them out.

I am a huge Les Miserables (The movie) fan, so why not? Especially since there was a 20% off sale, so I gladly bought my samples!

Samples
From left to right,
Sun King- Noble blue with flecks of gold
The Republic - A rich, leathery brown
Versailles - Antiqued molten gold
Death of Marat - Creamy oatmeal with soft blue flash

Madame Deficit - Lovely soft pink with a gold sheen
National Razor - Gunmetal with a red sheen
Affair of the Diamond - Silver with a blue shift
Dictateur Sanguinaire - Deep blood red
 Swatches
From top to bottom, over NYX milk:
Versailles
The Republic
Sun King
Death of Marat

Madame Deficit
National Razor
Affair of the Diamond
Dictateur Sanginaire

Reaction
I LOVE these colors! They apply so effortlessly and are stunning! (My hand was soaked on the second swatch pic, so that's why it looks slightly runny at the top and bottom) I don't know if I could really choose a favorite.. Maybe Affair of the Diamond, but I would love to use Dictateur Sanginaire for a sunset-inspired look! Although their samples are $1.50, on the higher side, I would highly recommend either purchasing their whole Viva la Revolution sample set or purchase their full-sized jars ($6). Their shipping is fairly reasonable as well at $2.50, again for across the country.

Backstreets Makeup Company Purchase & Review

Awe! I love browns too! But as always, buy all the colors!
I had never heard of Backstreets Makeup Company until a Redditor had talked about them being the diamond in the rough. Well, I would agree! April was amazing with fast shipping and quick turnaround time. I have heard rumors of dreadful international shipping stories and costs, but she makes it very affordable ($2.50 w/o tracking).

As the conquest to find and discover as many indie brands as I can, I decided to purchase 20 sample baggies. Little did I know I would receive 26 samples!!! After my order was sent, April emailed me if there were any I specifically wanted, which I have noted below.

Glamour Doll Eyes June Purchase Review

Yay graduation! As a present to myself, I decided to try out some indie brands I have never tried. One of those brands is Glamour Doll Eyes.  Not only was there free shipping, TAT was one day processing, and four days shipping!
What Did I Get?
I chose to go more with randoms since there are currently 120 different colors in the eye shadow section of their website - yikes! My preference was to have primarily more mattes and subtle colors since I am not yet able to pull off exciting colors.

The Goodies! For June, there was a free full-sized eye shadow of Mermaid's Plumage and I also received two additional colors (Frat Boy and Girlfriend Sweater).

Mushroom - Deep taupe base with a silver duochrome
Love Affair - Pinkish goldish color
Graves in May - Grey with pink undertones and multicolored shimmer (V)
RoxxCandy - Very light blue with silver, green, and purple sparkles (V)

Undercover - Taupish brown (V)
Doll House - Very light yellow with blue sparkle (V)
Disclose - Blackened gold with red and orange shimmers (V)
Frat Boy - Blackened gold with green and silver sparkles (V)

Cheapskate - Light grey with a copper, gold, and darker grey duochrome
Rocket - Grey with blue and dark purple undertones with gold shimmer; complex color
Inconsiderate - Matte beige with red sheen (V)
Girlfriend Sweater - Gorgeous matte dark purple (V)

And of course, Mermaid's Plumage (V). Their website does not actually have this for sale nor the description of the color.
 The Swatches
To everyone, I am dreadfully sorry for these swatches. I'm working on the settings to make them look better (P.S. look for my Baroque Cosmetics review coming soon! Those pictures look so much better!) As always, everything is swatched over NYX milk.

From left to right, we have Mushroom, Love Affair, Graves In May, and Undercover. I really like Love Affair, as it is a nice sheer pink. Although unlike most of the Glamour Doll Eyes, this color is very light and would need to be built up to show up.

Next, we have RoxxCandy, Doll House, Disclose, and Frat Boy. Truly, this is probably some of my favorite colors. I was hesitant when I saw a yellow, but Doll House is actually a flattering color against my pale skin. Now, look at that sparkle from Frat Boy! When I opened the bag, I was shocked at the amount of sparkle. These four colors I am going to go through quickly including Frat Boy which is outside my comfort zone.

Our next swatches are Rocket, Cheapskate, Girlfriend Sweater, and Inconsiderate. Girlfriend Sweater is super matte and unfortunately I did not get a good picture of it.. This color reminds me of those super comfy sweaters you would wear if it was cold, or in my case what I wear all year long in Washington.

Lastly, I tried to get Girlfriend Sweater again along with Mermaid's Plumage. Mermaid's Plumage is gorgeous, and is has teals and aquas for sure. When I opened the jar, it reminded me exactly of a mermaid's tail.

Overall
I am super excited about these new colors I have added to my collection! Favorites would be: Doll House, Disclose, Love Affair, and Mermaid's Plumage.  The pigmentation of the colors is fantastic besides the colors meant to be much lighter. TAT was 1 day processing, and 4 days shipping. I do think their website is a little busy, but considering the size of their inventory it may not be feasible to condense their site. Pricing wise, they are at $6.00 for a full-size (2-2.5gm), $2.50 for a sample jar (1gm) and $1.25 for sample-sized baggie (.5gm).
Go check out Glamour Doll Eyes!

Shiro Anniversary Haul

At the end of April, Shiro Cosmetics had their anniversary sale, which was 15% off an order.  Additionally, there was free shipping if the subtotal (before discounts) was over $50.  I ended up ordering six samples, one intertube, one mini jar, and seven full size jars. Prices are $1.00 for samples (1/8 tsp), $3.50 for mini jars (1.0 gram), and $6.00 for full jars (2.0 grams).  Intertubes were being discontinued for a formula change ($5.00) and there were some discounted full-sized jars for $4.50.
I ordered on 4/30,  shipped on 5/13, and arrived on 5/15. (At this point, there was a huge amount of orders so TAT was extended).

Products!!
Full Sized - Slave 23, Maiden Queen, Repel, Legendary, Still No Oscar for Leo DiCaprio, Alkahestry, Mother of Dragons
Mini Sized - Cake
Samples - Equivalent Exchange, Housewife, Philosopher's Stone, Fullmetal, Ever In Your Favor, Day of Reconing
Intertube - Nyan Cat

With every order, Shiro also gives candy and samples. For mine, I received samples of Filth (Detrivore), Courtier (Detrivore), and Triforce. Since it was also their anniversary, all orders received the Color of the Month The Fourth Be With You.

Initial Thoughts -
When I grabbed my package, I was amazed at how small the envelope was! When I opened it though, everything arrived neatly with no spillage. I did notice Cake was slightly open. Unfortunately due to the sifters, it causes the jars to not close all the way easily. Luckily, nothing was harmed! I was super excited to have three samples along with the full-sized COTM.  Additionally, the artistry on the full-sized jars is gorgeous, especially the Game of Thrones drawings.

From left to right, we have:
Maiden Queen - 'Brilliant emerald with bright aqua shimmer and golden-rose sparks'
Mother of Dragons - 'Silvered royal purple over a blood-red base'
Still No Oscar for Leo DiCaprio - 'Shimmering rose-tinted champagne with bright silver sparks'
The Fourth Be With You - 'Vivid, strangely metallic limey lightsaber green'
Slave 23 - 'A sheer wash of gold loaded with golden and silver sparkle'
Alkahestry - 'Sheer-ish pale violet with a brilliant blue-sparkle base'
Legendary
Repel
Cake - 'Pale cream with soft coppery highlight and red cherry sparks'

Personal favorites are Alkahestry, Still No Oscar for Leo DiCaprio, Repel, and Maiden Queen.
I do have some discrepancies over some of the swatches. Maiden Queen has no emerald, but is somewhere between aqua and teal. Additionally, I sadly did not see any red flakes in Cake..

Full Sized / Mini Thoughts -
Shiro has a strong mix of different colors, consistencies, and opaqueness as long as you want some shimmer. Shades such as Mother of Dragons is opaque and duo-chromic while Slave 23 and Cake are very translucent showing only shimmer. After trying to remove some of the swatches, it seems that the Game of Thrones shades are much harder to get off (I rubbed with makeup remover for over a minute) while the Super Effective Collection immediately came off.

From left to right,
Courtier - 'Light matte tan base with subtle silvery flecks'
Filth - 'Shimmery pinky-red with a purple shift'
Triforce - 'Pure shimmering yellow gold with bright golden flecks'
Ever In Your Favor - 'Bubbly purple-toned magenta'
Mockingjay (accidentally swatched!) - 'Metallic brown-copper-bronze'
Housewife - 'Beautiful pale geige with a shimmery finish'
Fullmetal - 'Complex charcoal base with a strong golden shimmer and red highlights'
Day of Reckoning - 'Intense, metallic deep burgundy'
Equivalent Exchange - 'Dark, silvery blue-toned purple with a sprinkling of brighter purple sparks'
Philosopher's Stone - 'Satiny blood red'

Again, personal favorites are Ever In Your Favor, Day of Reconing, Equivalent Exchange, and Philosopher's Stone.

Sample Thoughts
I'm disappointed at Philosopher's Stone, as it is not photographing well. It's truly a gorgeous color and looks amazing when paired with an orange-yellow color. As a HUGE Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood fan, the colors inspired by the show are incredibly accurate. When I look at Housewife, my mind immediately goes to Izumi.

Overall Thoughts -
Shiro is a great company, and easy to work with. I do think their samples are accurately priced since they are at 1/8 tsp. With the labels being so unique with the artistry, it makes it very easy to find them when I am getting ready in the morning.
(Hey... What about that Intertube?)
Of course, we cannot ever forget about the pop-tart cat that flies. I did not swatch Nyan Cat as my lips are always chapped, but I wear it almost every day. The only gripe is that the color wears faster than I expected, which may be additionally why they are changing formulas. Overall though, the tube is super cute and the color is a candy pink color with red-cherry like color swirled in.

Innocent + Twisted Alchemists June Sample Subscription

Now before I start describing this month's products, can I just say thank you for awesome customer service?! Last month, there was an issue with the blushes.  The blushes had been pressed and sent, but when an issue occurred (pan reacting to the glue), I was notified via email and Facebook to throw them out.  This month, she sent out them again (non-pressed) which truly describes her dedication to happy customers.
Cute packaging as usual! There was a doughnut sticker on the back too!

Now opening the packaging, I received two envelopes, one opaque with a bear and bunny and the other with their mascot. At this point, please keep in mind I have the sample sized subscription. There is also a full size available.

Upon opening the blue envelope, I am welcomed with the infamous card of surprises!  There is a wonderful note describing the issues from past months, but honestly I am receiving my subscription by the 10th of the month so I'm happy :D Included on the card is the contents with the exclusive colors from I+T and the bonus samples.  Additionally, there is a 30% off coupon code for subscribers to her shop, which is pretty awesome! Specially since her eyeshadows and blushes are gorgeous!

Included in this month's subscription is three eyeshadows by I+T. Twinkle Sparkles (ELF safe, not Vegan), ALKALI (Not lip safe, Vegan), and Sparkling Wail (ELF safe, Vegan). For the sample size, each is contained in a clamshell case.  I am personally too clumsy for these cases, so they often get put into regular cases.

Swatch time! For all swatches, I will have one blended in (no primer) and a square of color on top of NYX milk.  From left to right, we have ALKALI, Twinkle Sparkles, and Sparkling Wail. My first note on these is that Sparkling Wail is so incredibly unique.  If patted down, it creates a dark purple with incredible sparkle (they all do this) but when blended, you get almost a black shade.

That bunny bag is packed! Hope you didn't forget about this one. It contains samples from BFTE, Eccentric Cosmetics, Hello Waffle (AH!), and My Pretty Zombie Cosmetics (WHAT!?). Sorry for caps lock on this one, but I am so incredibly excited to get to try the last two, especially Hello Waffle.

For this one, it was easier to just show you all the items laid out together. First, we have BFTE who gave us a small sample of Sherbert and a larger sample of Dejavu in a jar. Next is Hello Waffle with Malva (blush), and then Eccentric Cosmetics with Mirage. Finally is My Pretty Zombie with Anthrax. Additionally, we have the two blush samples from May and a full-sized blush from I+T.

From left to right, Sherbert, Mirage, Antrax, Malva, and Dejavu. Mirage is my favorite from this batch, as the color reminds me of a mermaid tail. Sherbert I wish was a little more intense, as it nearly disappears on my NC05 (does that even exist? I'm pale) skin.  Malva(blush) and Anthrax would be really cool together, if you wanted that much purple in one look.

Lastly we have the blushes. Now these are all done without primer with blended on the left. Top to bottom is Psychotic Embers, Whispering Spells, and Vacant Smile. As you may have read from my previous post, I already like the bottom two. Psychotic Embers though... that is my jam! Unfortunately, my new phone has a horrible camera but the color is just gorgeous, especially in the jar. This one I would highly recommend buying for yourself! Also, Malva from before could easily double as a blush. I considered it as eyeshadow, but now I'm thinking more blush.

Overall, this was an amazing subscription and I am so fortunate to have gotten on it. I currently pay $12 (USD) for all of these items on a monthly basis with shipping included. You can go up to the full-sized subscription at $18? I would need to go look it up again. Favorites would be Psychotic Embers, Mirage, and Sparkling Wail. Hopefully, I will get around to posting my purchase from Shiro and my Ipsy June subscription (when it gets here). Thank you to reading!

Edit: I made some mistakes: 1-Malva is a blush, not an eyeshadow. 2-The reaction was with the pans to the glue. So sorry for these mistakes, and thank you to u\infamousjoe and u\ashhole613 for your contributions!
